The heart of the brand is the reading experience itself — a visitor arrives with a question in mind, and the website needs to guide them through the process and return a reading that feels considered and specific to them, not generic or repetitive. That put the underlying prediction logic at the centre of the entire build, not as an add-on feature.

Tarot readings only feel authentic when the mechanics behind them are handled with care. The website needed a system that could:
Capture Intent
Take in the visitor's question or area of focus (love, career, money, general guidance) in a simple, guided way.
Draw Fairly
Select cards — and where relevant, upright or reversed orientation and spread position — in a way that feels random and unbiased on every visit.
Interpret Sensibly
Map each drawn card and position to relevant interpretation content, so the reading reads as connected guidance rather than disjointed card definitions.
Present Clearly
Display the draw and reading on screen in a calm, easy-to-follow layout that works as well on mobile as on desktop.

Question & Spread Setup
- Designed the flow for a visitor to choose a focus area or type a question
- Mapped question types to the appropriate spread (single card, three card, or multi-card layouts)
Card-Draw Algorithm
- Built the core logic that randomly selects cards from the deck without repeats within a single reading
- Handled upright/reversed orientation as part of the draw, in line with tarot practice

- Built the core algorithm that governs card selection, shuffling and upright/reversed orientation for each reading
- Coded the rules that connect a visitor's question type to the correct spread and card-to-position logic
- Structured the algorithm so results stay varied and unbiased across repeated readings
Website Architecture
- Planned the overall site structure — question intake, reading engine, results display and content pages — as connected, maintainable modules
- Designed the data flow between the front-end reading interface and the backend logic layer
- Built the architecture to support future additions, such as new spreads or reading types, without reworking the core system
Backend Development (PHP/MySQL)
